If you wanna go surfing when you´re here, join the Kill Surfers Club, and go surf. Normally, surf´s up at least twice a week. Sign up for the newsletter and receive all the information and when everyone is getting together to go and catch some waves. And don´t forget to buy a t-shirt from the club.
Normally we work until late in our studio/shop, and everyday we have to eat and drink. So if you are around Lx Factory later in afternoon. Feel free to stop by and have a drink with us. There is no better way to finish the day, with a drink and a nice view over Lisbon and the bridge.
Visit us in our "kind" of surf shop and find everything you need to go surfing. Surfboards, fins, leashes, wax, T-shirts, knives and wine. Yes because when it´s flat, drinking wine it´s the thing we love to do most. Surf, drink wine or stay home.
Only if you are crazy of course. The Crooks go there often, but only to grab some beers and eat good food with our local friends, while seeing the crazy surfers like João Macedo and McNamara surfing the mountains of water. But dont bother to go up there if there´s no swell because you won´t see any wave at all.
Probably one of the best places in Portugal to surf, Peniche has beaches facing completely opposite directions, north, south, west, east, which gives you a almost sure perfect off shore conditions somewhere. You just have to go and check all of them. The fish and the green wine are also amazing in there.
What was a fishermen village, became the surfers paradise and village. One of the first world surfing reserve, you can find all types of waves, reef, rocky, sandy beach break. You have it all. If you are a begginner, summer is good, but other than that just choose another place to surf. You life will thank you.
The Crooks surf everywhere, but this is our backyard, our paradise, the best wave in the world, even when it´s shitty. We grew up around here and here is where we feel good. It´s not the nicest place, it´s disorganized, there is some crime, the fishermen don´t smile to you, but it´s our beach and we love it.
Where the surf was introduced in Portugal, the rich kids are the locals here. With names like Salvador, Bernardo, Martim, Francisca e Carlota, they represent the elite of surfing in the country. The Crooks are forever thankfull to them, because the first surfboards we stolen back in the days were from them.
Arrifana, Amado, Bordeira, Sagres, and many many more, our southwest coast is one of the last pieces of natural coast untouched in Europe. It´s perfect for surf trips, adventures, and perfect sunsets. Enjoy but respect the locals and the beaches. Clean after yourself and don´t be a stupid surfer thinking is the only one in this world.
